Pickleball players celebrate another year at Boynton Beach’s Hester Center – FL

Hester Kids

The Hester Kids, a group of pickleball players in southern Palm Beach County, recently had its fourth annual pickleball luncheon at the Ezell Hester Jr. Community Center in Boynton Beach.

The Hester Kids, comprising mostly seniors, meet five teams each week for league play year-round. The pickleball league, which includes mostly full-time residents with a mix of seasonal residents and snowbirds, continues to grow in numbers each year. The league is also open to beginners, newcomers and younger participants.

The Hester Kids group also includes several experienced players who have either previously participated or received medals during pickleball events at the National Senior Games, Florida Senior Games, Delray Senior Games and the State Games of America.

Boynton Beach resident J.R. Olivieri, who runs the pickleball league, hosted the luncheon. She was assisted by her husband Armand Olivieri, league participants and facility representatives, including Joe Evans.
