Hannibal, Missouri, Armory Pickleball Courts Set to Reopen After Flooding

The Admiral Coontz Armory in Hannibal has been closed for weeks due to flooding from the Mississippi River.

It is set to reopen Monday, April 22 with Drop-In Pickleball from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The cost is $3 for Drop-In Pickleball.

Courts will be designated for competitive, intermediate and leisure. Players are welcome to “drop in” and play games.

The facility will reopen to the public Tuesday, April 23 at 7:30 a.m. for walking and other activities.

Crews spent Friday morning cleaning the armory. Officials said at least two feet of water was inside the building at one point.

“We had to hose it out, clean it up, we had to bleach everything make sure it’s safe and sanitary but the floor machine really helps,” Mary Lynne Richards with Hannibal Parks & Recreation said.

Senior Adult Dances will be from noon to 3:00 p.m. Wednesdays.

Regular hours at the Admiral Coontz Armory are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.
