An avid tennis player in Rockville Center Long Island NY is trying to grow his new passion locally.

The Staten Island Pickleballers celebrated the first World Pickleball Day at Midland Beach last Saturday with a season-ending tournament.

A new racket store in Williamsville sells pickleball paddles, fitness apparel and more than 30 kinds of athletic shoes. It plans to add racquetball, badminton and squash gear to its inventory later this year.
