San Angelo’s Brown Park at the corner of Johnson Street and West Twohig has recently been updated, with pickleball courts being painted on what were originally tennis courts. Nets will be added in the future.

Pickleball is growing in popularity in cities all across Texas and across the nation. USA Pickleball says the sport has grown 30% over the past three years. 

Some homeowners in Dallas are in a pickle over pickleball. The sport, which is a hybrid of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, is all the craze, but the noise is driving some neighbors crazy.

Pickleball is coming this spring to Longview, Texas, parks, along with several improvements funded through voter-approved bonds, nonprofit fundraising or capital budgeting.

GEORGETOWN, Texas — Some Sun City residents aren’t happy with a plan to build pickleball courts in a neighborhood park. The protestors said a grove of oak trees would be cut down at Legacy Hills Park to make way for those new courts.
